I took the same roads I always take but today was a little different.

John 21:1-14

Reference: “Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord.” ‭‭John‬ ‭21:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: It was just a normal drive to work. I took the same roads I always take but today was a little different.

My head was so full of thoughts running around I decided to turn off the radio. And in driving in the silence I was able to bring God into my mind.

As I sorted through my thoughts I was able to clarify my purpose and potential. My decisions were challenging but when I kept God at the centre then they made more sense and gave me more hope for the future.

Inviting God into my drive to work made a very everyday practice so much more meaningful.

Application: The disciples found this, too, after Jesus’ resurrection. Their Lord invited them into an everyday practice – eating breakfast. And yet His very presence made the event more meaningful.

Never underestimate the presence of God. When He draws near to us then something everyday can become extraordinary.

Prayer: Lord, we invite You into our lives. May our everyday practices add glory to You and purpose to Your kingdom. Amen.

How can you invite God into your everyday?
