While everyone received the same email there were a number of different responses.

Isaiah 21:1-17

Reference: v.13 A prophecy concerning Arabia:
You caravans of Dedanites,
who camp in the thickets of Arabia… (TNIV Bible)

Explore: A colleague of mine recently sent around an email informing us that he had resigned and was moving on to work at a local church.

While everyone received the same email there were a number of different responses.

Some were devastated that their friend was leaving; some were happy for his next adventure. There were some who were not greatly impacted as they had not worked closely with him and there was management who were just relieved that the announcement had finally been made public, as they had known for quite some time.

One message, various reactions.

Application: Isaiah was a prophet with a message. He didn’t just speak to one person but many groups of people.

Ultimately his message, although said in many different ways, was the same to each group, “Love God.” And yet there were various reactions.

I guess we all receive that same message even today. Our command is to love God. We hear it mentioned through different means and need to constantly be reminded, but the message is always the same.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the reminder to love You. As a follower it is my intention to love you every day, however it often gets lost in the busyness of life. May I find time today to express my love to You. Amen.

How can you show God that you love Him today?
