The Sound Guy

Explore: The life of a sound person is a tough one. When there is a conference, a church service or a concert on, it is important to have a good sound system so that everyone can hear what is going on.
For those who operate the system, it’s a tough gig. They are often the first to arrive, the last to leave and only get acknowledged when something goes wrong.
If the sound works perfectly then no one notices it. However, if the sound does not work – or it makes a terrible feedback noise – then EVERYONE notices!
Application: This can often be the same when it comes to friendship circles. When everyone is getting along no one notices the challenges, it all seems to just happen so naturally.
However, when there is conflict then seems to rear it’s ugly head at every turn. Even the most simple conversation can bring gossip, disrespect and disloyalty.
When friendships are good then everyone just seems to sail along without noticing. However when it’s bad, everyone can feel the tension.
It’s not surprising to discover that God desires unity and peace in relationships. His creation was for all things to work well together.
Unfortunately, with the introduction of sin, we often fall from the grace and peace of positive friendships.
However, we must continue to work towards restoring relationships to how they were meant to be. It’s not easy and it’s a lifetime’s task, but when we see glimpses of it we are able to see that it is good and pleasant.
Prayer: Lord, give us your grace and peace to live in unity together. Amen.
Where is there disunity in your life?
