We often don’t know how significant a day can be, but each day can be one that may change our lives forever.

Exodus 12:1-51

Reference: v.14  “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance. (TNIV Bible)

Explore: There are days in our lives that change the course of our future. They often start out like any other day and yet, by the time the sun sets, our life story has been altered forever. Such days for me have been the day I started a new school, the day I moved into my very first rental, the day I had to tell my sister our grandmother had died, the day I met my future husband, the day my dad passed away, the day I created a first memory with one of my best friends… We often don’t know how significant a day can be, but each day can be one that may change our lives forever.

Application: When the Israelites were told to prepare for the Passover it was already at a pretty significant time in their lives. Although they had been in slavery for 430 years, I reckon they could tell that something was about to change. They had no idea what lay ahead, but this day didn’t just change their course of history, but set a new path for all humankind. This day showed the Israelites at the time – and has continued to show the world to this day – that our God is a redeemer, a Saviour and powerful beyond our understanding.

Prayer: Lord, each and every day has some level of significance. May we be open to what each day holds and strive to be a significant witness for you in all that we do. Amen.
