It’s not always pleasant to think about

Psalm 47:1-9

Reference: “He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭47:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Explore: My husband and I need to redo our will. Our family situation has changed and it has been years since we’ve looked into what would happen if we were both to die.

It’s not always pleasant to think about, but it does bring up thoughts of what we would give to those we love.

Clearly, anyone mentioned in our will is near and dear to us. We would only give to those whom we love and treasure.

Hopefully we won’t have to worry about it for a very long time but it’s actually nice to acknowledge, and potentially bless, those we love so much.

Application: When the Psalmist talks about God choosing our inheritance for us He’s thinking of His best. We don’t deserve it, but He gives us His best.

Of all that my husband and I have built and accumulated over the last 15 years, nothing compares to the inheritance we receive from God. We don’t deserve it, we haven’t earned it, but we are blessed to be a part of His family.

Let’s not miss out on all God has in store for us.

Prayer: Lord, as Your child I love you. Thank You for bringing me into Your truly blessed family. Amen.

How has God blessed you?
